The Mallory family has a long association with Mobberley starting with Thomas’s, Rectors in 1620, 1684 and 1770. They were followed by John Holdsworth Mallory in 1795, George Mallory in 1832 and H. Leigh Mallory 1885.
Probably the most well known in modern times was George Leigh Mallory (picture*) of Everest Fame.
